CREATIVE

Hi, I'm Tori - the face of VBM Creative! As a child, I expressed my love for creation through
arts and crafts and scrapbooking. As I got older, I developed an interest in interior design/decorating (I loved making floor plans in my middle school Home Economics
class!), photography, and graphic design.

After high school, I packed my bags (I quickly learned my itty bitty dorm closet was no match for my closet of clothes from home - eek!) and traveled 14 hours west to start my adventure at the University of Missouri. Majoring in magazine journalism, I had dreams of following in the footsteps of famous female muckrakers. After introductory journalism classes and a semester of reporting for a bi-lingual Latino magazine, I decided journalism was not the path for me.
As I took design and photography classes (some part of my major and some elected), my artistic side began to re-emerge, and my passion for graphic design and photography 
came alive.

After graduating from Mizzou, with three internships under my belt, I dove headfirst into my first marketing job for a mortgage broker — a position that combined my writing and design skills. Since then, I have worked as an in-house designer in several fields — including education (K-12 and higher ed) and healthcare. To feed my creative desires, I started VBM Creative, which was inspired by my passion to create and make the world around me beautiful. Since its inception, I have lent my creative talents to nonprofits, startups, agencies, and various individuals and businesses.
